The Changing Times
Times have changed—yes, the days have truly turned.
In this ever-new world, we’re still repaying old debts.
Even those born with golden spoons in their mouths—
when they bring a “friend” home,
who knows if that friend isn’t the messenger of death?
In idle talk, they read between the lines;
in the messenger’s words, the midwife turns killer.
There’s hunger for food, hunger for youth,
and hunger for the comfort of pain itself.
To mother- and father-in-law alike,
the mistress of the house cries out in distress—
the bride seems like a hangman’s noose.
No, it’s not just gossip—it’s fate itself.
In almost every home, the frenzy goes on:
some hide their secrets,
some flaunt them shamelessly;
some ring hollow like fragile bells,
others clash like thunderous cymbals—
and through it all, the soul strains to break free.
