The Return of Darkness
Nowhere does the serene Buddha take birth anymore.
Nowhere is born the clever, playful Krishna.
This world, wrapped in utter darkness,
is slipping back into a prehistoric age—
as though the herds of dinosaurs will roam again.
Scene after scene changes,
the stage transforms,
the light shifts,
the props, the characters, the dialogues—
all replaced.
Now only beasts are born by the hundreds,
rapists by the hundreds.
Deceit reigns, and dazzling illusion chokes the air—
the final light of day flees, exhausted,
from this unbearable splendor of corruption.
